Our latest backsplash is a gem. Here we have ceramic tile with a metal and glass band through the middle. Another 'concept to completion' project. This was an extremely difficult demolition in step one! A lot of smashing and tearing and we had to add some 2x4's for support. We also had to shim out the walls in order to install Kerdi board. We use Kerdi board on our installs because it is an upgrade to traditional sheet rock or cement board. It's water proof and dust free! We used Quadec profiles by Schluter as our edging. Really looks sharp! In our last step, as always, we used Custom's Prizm grout and 100% silicone caulking which lasts longer and is far superior to latex caulking.
